Art Teacher: Ages 2-4

Part-time Position

 

We are seeking an art teacher to work with children ages 2-4 in a parent-child class this Spring. The teacher will be responsible for providing overall class goals and objectives, developing class content and curriculum and providing a nurturing environment for families.

 

Class is offered as follows:

 

Family Art Stations | Ages 2-4

Day: Saturday

Time: 10:00-11:30am

 

Parents and caretakers join their children in a variety of artistic experiences. From sensory and fine motor, to spring-themed crafts, families work together to transform 2D and 3D materials into artistic creations. Alongside craft projects are stations for movement, play and stories. Attend seven weeks or drop-in for four. No class 4/29, 5/13 or 5/27. April 1-June 3

 
Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of early childhood development.
  • Experience teaching and creating curriculum for ages 2+.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of general safety rules and basic first aid.
  • Professional and patient.
  • Ability to interact with and engage children and families.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and individually.
  • Knowledge of art materials and general care of studio space.
  • MA in Early Childhood or Art Education preferred or equivalent work experience.

Art Teacher: Ages 5-7

Part-time Position

 

We are seeking an art teacher to work with children ages 5-7 for two classes this Spring. The teacher will be responsible for providing overall class goals and objectives, developing class content and curriculum and providing a nurturing environment for students.

 

Classes are offered as follows:

 

Myths and Superheroes

Day: Wednesday

 Time: 3:30-5:30pm

 

We will activate our imaginations to create narratives of superheroes, dragons, fairytales and more! Students will explore drawing, painting, mixed-media and sculpture in this hands-on class. No class 4/19. March 29-May 31

 

Art Medley

Day: Saturday

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

 

Let your creativity loose with the opportunity to try a variety of materials and art styles! Children experiment in sculpture, printmaking, painting and more for unique and exciting creations. No class 4/29, 5/13 or 5/27. April 1-June 3

Art Teacher: Ages 13-17

Part-time Position

 

We are seeking an art teacher to work with students ages 13-17 in a text and image class this Spring. The teacher will be responsible for providing overall class goals and objectives, developing class content and curriculum and providing a nurturing environment for students.

 

Class is offered as follows:

 

Text and Image

Day: Monday

Time: 3:30-5:30pm

 

This class explores the relationship between written and visual forms of expression through fine art and graphic design. Students will work in both traditional and digital media. No class 4/17. March 27-May 22

 

Qualifications:

· Excellent knowledge of art education.

· Experience teaching and creating curriculum for ages 13-17.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Knowledge of general safety rules and basic first aid.

· Professional and patient.

· Ability to interact with and engage students.

· Ability to work effectively in teams and individually.

· Knowledge of art materials and general care of studio space.

· MFA preferred or equivalent work experience.

To propose a class, please email  office@brooklineartscenter.com the following materials:
 

  • A resume and cover letter detailing your academic, artistic and professional experience.
  • A nine-week course outline, including targeted age range.
  • A sample lesson plan.
  • A list of three references.
  • Examples of  your work and student work.

 

Class proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Proposals should align with the BAC’s mission and should differ from our current course offerings. If we are looking for a teacher for a particular course, we will list it in our current openings.

 

Our facilities include: 1 ceramics studio, 1 jewelry/metals studio and 3 visual arts studios.
