Brookline Tab - "Brookline Arts Center to present national juried exhibition"

Amy Archambault in The Brookline Tab

"Artist Amy Archambault’s sculptures, installations and mixed media drawings uncover activations of objects and environments. Erik Grau’s paintings focus on the positive energy associated with the objects he has curated at home to create a quiet stillness and address repetition and order. Howard Hastie uses symbols and shapes to create a vignette of imagery that explores the avenues of a working space and the psychological and spiritual themes to which he has gravitated. In Kelly Hendrickson’s work, the female figure mimics objects, trying and failing to literally become them and serving as a playful way to poke at what it means to be objectified."

ArtScope - "Adding Life to Long-Forgotten Spaces: Skinner Makes Decay Beautiful"

Waning, photograph on aluminum, 20” x 30”.

"In Rebecca Skinner’s two exhibits, at 6 Bridges Gallery and the Brookline Arts Center, striking images depict abandoned mills and factories in total ruin. Decay has thoroughly set in. Elements of nature have begun to re-establish their territory. Her photographs portray spaces once bustling with workers and loaded with products of every description, now standing, after years of neglect, totally dilapidated."
