Nuno Felting Intensive

Instructor: Ramune Jauniskis

Nuno felting is the process of adhering the finest merino fibers to silk gauze through a moisture and agitation technique. This is a wonderful new art form that is easy and results in beautifully layered fabrics. Students can make pieces that are either functional scarves, bags and clothing or artistic wall hangings.

Intensive Oil Painting with Kim Mellema: LANDSCAPES

Monday-Friday, 9:00am–12:00pm; 12:30–3:30pm

Learn the basics of oil painting in a focused and supportive environment. Open to both beginners and those with experience. Emphasis will be on observation and composition of still lifes and landscapes. Students will look at how different light sources change the local color of objects. Three-value thumbnail sketches will be used to design the composition.

The Art of Decoupage Intensive

Instructor: Jenn Sherr

Decoupage is a collage technique that you can use to decorate your home with personal style and flair! Learn traditional techniques and new techniques, plus sophisticated approaches to design and composition. Make lamp shades, boxes, trays, and other creative items for your home. Several projects will be completed. No prior experience is necessary.

Watercolor Intensive

Instructor: Wendy (Hoo) Soneson

Beginners learn everything about watercolor in one week. Advanced students get to indulge in their favorite activity full time. Beginners will be inspired by the experienced students, while the veterans are refreshed by watching newcomers’ enthusiasm. Like summer camp for grown-ups, this week is always full of surprises and joy. Open to adults and serious teens.

Metal Clay Intensive

Instructor: Stephanie Houston

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 6:00-9:00pm

The invention of Precious Metal Clay, better known as PMC, is a new approach to making jewelry. Pure silver or gold is suspended in an organic binder that burns away when the material is fired in a kiln. This is an exciting class where students will mold, sculpt and use household tools to create earrings, pendants, and even rings. Students are encouraged to experiment and develop new designs with this new medium. Limited to 8.

Drawing Intensive: Drawing in Ink

Ages 9+

Instructor: Yaron Dotan

Monday-Friday, 3:00-5:30pm

Ink is a medium that allows for a variety of strikingly different yet delightful effects. Learn how to use an assortment of pens, ink techniques and tones. Students will also learn how to compensate for mistakes. Each class will feature a presentation of ink artwork, demonstrations, exercises and a project. Limited to 10.

Ceramic Raku Workshop

Friday, 10:00am - 6pm

We have arranged a special field trip to the Potters Studio for an alternative firing opportunity. Raku firing is a Japanese method of glazing and firing, where the heat, glazes, clay and kiln come together to make a uniquely beautiful ceramic artwork. Invest one day learning and participating in this ancient art form, and you will discover a brand new look for your works. Bring three bisque pieces. Call for more details.
