Movable Monsters

Make creative creatures that move! Each week we will use recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls, as well as tissue papers, paints, feathers, and other everyday items to create real or imagined creatures. And by using brass fasteners, we'll be able to make them walk and pose! Create a monster, or create a whole world of them, the possibilites are endless.

Learn how to create characters, action and story lines for comic books, strips or graphic novels. Winter Studio

Fridays, 3:30-5:30pm

Study drawing and painting in a focused and creative environment. We will create color wheels to aid in color mixing and gray scales, learn to use underpainting to enhance and problem solve in realistic painting and also work on collage sand monoprints. In drawing we will do some left brain-right brain exercises(upside-down drawing and vase-face) along with design and balance exercises. Studying and practicing individual features will enable students to draw portraits and self portraits. Observational notebooks will help to practice the learned skills. We will work with graphite and colored pencils, charcoal, acrylis and water colors.

Enameling is the process of fusing glass onto metal. Enamels are available in a rainbow of colors, as well as small glass flower chips and decal sheets.
