Form and Sculpture

Day: Monday (12 weeks)

In this introduction to three-dimensional form, students learn basic techniques such as building a base, relief carving and casting. Project materials will range from clay to metal wire to plaster. No class 10/9. September 18-December 11

 

 

Clayworks

Explore the versatility of clay! Students will learn basic handbuilding techniques including pinching, coil building and slab work, while creating small sculptures and functional pieces for use. Along with clay construction, introductory wheelthrowing and methods of glazing and surface decoration will be introduced. No class 10/28, 11/18, 11/23 or 11/25. Draw Like a Pro

Day: Tuesday (12 weeks)

Strengthen your drawing skills in this fun and challenging class. Through a series of weekly exercises and sketchbook practice, students will polish their ability to render the world around them. Children will explore different drawing materials and techniques including cartooning, drawing from observation, proportional drawing and more. September 19-December 5

 

 

Paint Like a Pro

Day: Wednesday (12 weeks)

Time: 3:30-5:30pm

In this foundation class, students will learn to use their creative thinking skills and explore various painting materials and techniques. Students will work from still life, nature and their imaginations to develop their technical skills and gain visual awareness that will serve as a framework for future arts education. This is a great follow-up to Draw Like a Pro! No class 11/22. September 20-December 13

 

 

Mixed Media Illustration

Day: Thursday (11 weeks)

Time: 3:30-5:30pm

How can you create your own story using pictures and words in old books and magazines? We will explore collage by creating books, paintings, sculptures and more! In this class we will use a variety of mediums, familiar and unfamiliar, to create unique works of art. No class 11/23. September 28-December 14

 

 

Characters and Comics*

Day: Friday

Time: 3:30-5:30pm

Class Fee: $170 (Session A), $90 (Session B)

This class will focus on character development and storytelling. Over the session, we will experiment with different illustration techniques and design a cast of characters. Through drawing and writing exercises, we will develop our characters' personalities, backstories and create the world they live in. No class 10/27. September 22-November 3 (Friday A), December 1-December 15 (Friday B)

*This class has an "A session" and "B session" due to special events this fall. Students can register for one or both, and they do not have to attend the "A session" in order to attend the "B session." A session meets 6 weeks and B session meets 3 weeks.
