Create unique three-dimensional works of art in this introduction to form class! Using a variety of materials, including metal wire, plaster, recycled bottles, cardboard and clay, students will learn basic techniques that will result in one-of-a-kind creations. Explore the possibilities of form and sculpture through techniques such as base building, relief carving, and casting.

Explore the versatility of clay! Students will learn basic handbuilding techniques including pinching, coil building and slab work, while creating small sculptures and functional pieces for use. Along with clay construction, introductory wheelthrowing and methods of glazing and surface decoration will be introduced.

Strengthen your drawing skills in this fun and challenging class. Through a series of weekly exercises and sketchbook practice, students will polish their ability to render the world around them. Children will explore different drawing materials and techniques including cartooning, drawing from observation, proportional drawing and more.




Wednesdays (8 wks), April 11-June 6 (No class April 18)

In this foundation class, students will learn to use their creative thinking skills and explore various painting materials and techniques. Students will work from still life, nature and their imaginations to develop their technical skills and gain visual awareness that will serve as a framework for future arts education. This is a great follow-up to Draw Like a Pro!




Thursdays (4 wks), May 3-May 24

Come experience plein air art at the BAC! In this four-week course, we will step outside the studio to paint and draw outdoors, using our beautiful park for inspiration. On rain dates, we will bring nature indoors for still-life based creations.




Fridays (7 wks), April 6-June 8 (No class Apr 20, Apr 27 & May 11)

This class will focus on character development and storytelling. Over the session, we will experiment with different illustration techniques and design a cast of characters. Through drawing and writing exercises, we will develop our characters' personalities, backstories and create the world they live in.




Fridays (4 wks), May 5-June 1 (No class May 11)

Class Fee: $135, Materials: $20


Bring your characters and ideas to life in both 2D and 3D form. Projects include flip books, charcoal animations, 3D text animations using found materials and claymation. Students will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and basic animation skills in this fun, collaborative class.
