MASTERS IN WATERCOLOR

Mondays (8 wks), July 1-Aug 26 (No class July 8)

Students at all levels of experience are welcome to participate in this studio-style course. Beginners will learn techniques and tricks to understand how to use watercolors effectively and efficiently to create beautiful works of art. Advanced students are encouraged to embark on personal projects.

 


OPEN STUDIO: BATIK

Mondays (7 wks), July 15-Aug 26 (No class Aug 12)

With its colorful marbled effects, batik offers a variety of possibilities for decorating fabric. Learn to express your unique style in scarves and clothing, pillows, wall hangings, sculptures or greeting cards with this inspiring medium. 

 


INTRODUCTION TO THE PORTRAIT

Tuesdays (4 wks), July 2-July 30 (No class on July 9)

In this class students will learn about the history and process of portrait drawing. Students will explore styles, structure, expression and color in portraiture using a variety of drawing mediums incuding graphite, charcoal, pastel and more. 

 

 


INTRODUCTION TO THE LANDSCAPE

Tuesdays (4 wks), Aug 6-Aug 27

In this class students will learn about the rich and varied art of the landscape. Students will explore perspective, atmosphere and color using a variety of drawing mediums including graphite, charcoal, pastel and more.

 


METHODS IN PAINTING

Thursdays (8 wks), July 11-Aug 29

Students at all levels of experience are welcome to participate in this studio-style course. Techniques and methods used in art history as well as by contemporary artists will be featured in class so students may broaden their understanding of the vast world of painting. Advanced students are encouraged to embark on personal projects.
