ARTVENTURES: FOLK ART! | Ages 5-7

9:00am-4:00pm | Teacher: TBD

Our ArtVentures program for children blends fun with learning through a balance of structured projects, creative expression and play. We promote artistic exploration while developing technique and critical-thinking skills. Each theme is explored through a variety of mediums and imaginative projects. Students have three breaks during the day to explore our beautiful park, play on the connecting playground or participate in a game with their peers. *5 year olds must be enrolled in kindergarten.

 

Folk Art!: From folk painting to nature crafts, the USA has produced a stunning array of art since 1776! Take a day to be inspired by some ecclectic art and define what folk art means for you!

 


FUNDAMENTALS IN PAINTING INTENSIVE  |  Ages 8-12

Learn foundational painting techniques including color mixing, building layers and applying various brush strokes. This course introduces plein air landscapes, still-life and palette knife painting. Students will work primarily in acrylics and watercolors.

 


SCULPTURAL CLAY INTENSIVE |  Ages 10-12

9:00am-5:30pm | Teacher: TBD

Take a day in our studio to explore the wonderful world of clay and all of its sculptural possibilities. Explore techniques such as coil building, double pinch pot making and sculpting slab mugs in addition to other fun options!

 

 

JEWELRY AND METALS INTENSIVE  |  Ages 12-17

9:00am-5:30pm | Teacher: TBD

Class Fee: $95, Materials:  $10

 

Students will gain hands on knowledge of jewelry making and metalsmithing techniques including soldering, piercing, etching and embellishing in copper, nickel and brass.
