Color Photography: Mostly Flowers by Deanna Christo
January 12 - February 26, 2010
Artist Reception:
Saturday, January 23, 2010
2 to 4 p.m.
What do you see when you take a walk? Deanna Christo retired from teaching, and started noticing the infinite variety of colors and forms that surrounded her as she took her daily walk.
Christo is a Brookline native: in fact, she comes from an artistic family that encouraged her to observe the inspiring beauty of the world. Her father was Nathan Kredenser, the painter/muralist whose studio was in Coollidge Corner.
Christo's exhibition at the Brookline Arts Center features views from Brookline, Boston, Cambridge, California and South Carolina; but it's really a Brookline show.
The exhibition is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from January 12 to February 26. (The BAC will be closed on Martin Luther King Day and Presidents' Day.) Admission is free.
Meet Deanna and talk photography with her at a Photo Discussion Salon on Friday, February 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $5, but all are welcome, regardless of ability to pay. Photographers are urged to bring samples of their work to show and discuss with the others.
The photo salon will be of interest to both photographers, and anybody interested in photography.
