Spring Gala benefiting the Brookline Arts Center
Saturday,March 24, 2012 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Putterham Grille, 1012 West Roxbury Parkway, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467

The Spring Gala & Palettes to benefit the Brookline Arts Center will feature performers, live music and dancing, along with elegant food and cocktails. The Newton-based band Exit 17 will provide dance music from the R&B, funk, rock and jazz traditions.

Bidding may be fast-paced at a live auction of decorated painters' palettes created by local artists and celebrities to benefit the Brookline Arts Center. The team of special guest auctioneers will be led by author Gary Wolf, who penned Who Censored Roger Rabbit? which was made into the internationally-successful and multi-Academy Award winning movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Denise Kasell, executive director of the Coolidge Corner Theatre, and Conductor Lisa Graham, music director for the Brookline Chorus, are two more celebrities who will serve as palette auctioneers.

Funds raised at the Gala and auction will benefit low-income scholarships and the free ArtReach art classes for low-income children and seniors at the non-profit Brookline Arts Center, a community arts center begun in 1964.
