The Brookline Arts Center is such an exciting place. In addition to our art classes, exhibitions and wonderful educational programs, our faculty and participating artists are busy making the news.

Anh Dao Kolbe, Misplaced Baggage
Anh Dao Kolbe's "Misplaced Baggage" exhibition was originally shown at the Brookline Arts Center in 2004. It has since traveled to many other galleries and (as of 2011) is being prepared for publication as a book.
Karenna Maraj
BAC Jewelry teacher Karenna Maraj opened a gallery and store for jewelry in spring 2010 in Cushing Square, Belmont, where she shows her own work, plus work by other contemporary jewelers. Maraj has been teaching at the Brookline Arts Center since 2008.
Venkat Raman Singh Shyam
Bhopal-based artist Venkat Raman Singh Shyam is featured at the Brookline Arts Center and at a major exhibition of Pardhan Gond Tribal art at Wellesley College's Davis Museum. The exhibitions have been featured on WGBH-TV's Greater Boston and India New England. In mid-April, the artist and curator John Bowles met with a group of Wellesley College alumnae in the ALANA group, to tour and discuss the Brookline Arts Center exhibition.
Katherine Kominis
Photographer Katherine Kominis visited classes at the Brookline Arts Center to document arts and culture in the greater Boston Area as part of the Boston Photography Project. Those works were part of an exhibition in Hunneman Hall at the Brookline Public Library and on view at the Moakley Courthouse in 2010.
Melle Finelli
Brookline Arts Center jewelry and metalsmithing faculty member Melle Finelli has opened an exquisite new gallery at 450 Harrison Avenue, in the SoWa arts district. Visit her on First Fridays, or make an appointment to see her newest work.
Claudine Metrick
Brookline Arts Center painting faculty member Claudine Metrick has had a number of solo art exhibitions in 2010 and 2011.
Laura Milkins
Past Brookline Arts Center faculty member and gallery exhibitor Laura Milkins has received a Fulbright Scholarship for her "Walking Stories" project in Mexico City in 2009, in 2011, she is walking the Midwest from Arizona to Western Michigan.
Raul Gonzalez
Popular Brookline Arts Center instructor Raul Gonzalez has exhibited in Art Basel: Miami, and is featured in the new Artadia book, 5 Cities, 41 Artists.
Rachel Simon
Writer Rachel Simon led a writers workshop and meeting for individual critiques during Crafts Showcase 2002. She is known for her book, Riding The Bus With My Sister, which has been released in paperback, and broadcast in January 2007, in a production featuring Rosie O'Donnell. Her book, The House on Teachers Lane, is now available in paperback and her 2011 book, The Story of Beautiful Girl has been listed on the New York Times bestseller list.
Grace Kelly
Grace Kelly 13-year-old singer-songwriter-saxophonist, made two special performances for the Brookline Art Center. Performing at Isabella Frost's Our Town opening exhibition party and Brookline Open Studios, Art Party. Grace is the youngest musician ever to be a winner of FMJS competition at the 2006 East Coast Jazz Festival. Grace has recorded or performed with world class musicians such as Lee Konitz, Jerry Bergonzi, John Lockwood, Yoron Israel and the list goes on. She will headline at Scullers Jazz Club in August 2009.
