Finale Chefs Serve Dessert at the Brookline Arts Center's Crafts Showcase Preview Reception

Finale, Boston's dessert specialists, will be donating its services to the Crafts Showcase fundraiser at the Brookline Arts Center on Wednesday, November 29 from 6-9 pm. Finale will present a stunning bittersweet chocolate mousse and a mouthwatering white chocolate mousse prepared onsite for guests at the Crafts Showcase Preview Reception.

With one location in downtown Boston and one in Cambridge, Finale recently opened its newest desserterie in Brookline, in Coolidge Corner. Though a newcomer to the neighborhood, Finale is not a newcomer to lending a hand to good causes. Past charitable events that Finale has contributed to include Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer (Dana Farber Cancer Institute), Pie in the Sky (Community Servings), and the Taste of the Nation (Share Our Strength).

For 32 years, the Brookline Arts Center has presented its Crafts Showcase for three weeks in December. During this time, the public will be able to view and purchase handmade crafts from artisans across the country, finding unique gifts for the holiday season. Approximately 80-100 craftspeople will exhibit at this year's Crafts Showcase, all hand-selected by a jury of artists, collectors and designers with the Brookline Arts Center. Merchandise at the Crafts Showcase will include jewelry, glassware, ceramics, Christmas ornaments and Hanukkah items, kitchenware, clothing and many more gift items.

The Preview Reception is the public's first chance to view the work available for sale. Guests can also meet some of the participating artists, do some fun holiday shopping, enjoy live music, and sample food and drinks from local businesses like Finale. This is Finale's first year participating in the Preview Reception. Also new this year is a trunk show of Hanukkah gift items by Shuki's Judaica, Jewelry & Gifts, and musical accompaniment by Michael Nix on his unique instrument, the banjar.

Tickets to the Preview Reception are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased by calling the Arts Center at 617-566-5715. Regular Crafts Showcase hours, from Thursday, November 30 to Sunday, December 17, are Thursdays from noon to 8 pm, and Fridays through Sundays from noon to 6 pm. Admission during regular hours is free. Money raised by the Preview Reception and art sales will help support art classes, scholarships and other programs at the Brookline Arts Center.

Finale's Coolidge Corner location is located at 1306 Beacon Street in Brookline, and the Brookline Arts Center is located at 86 Monmouth Street. Both are easily accessible by public transportation.
