Brookline Portrait Photographer Dana Berenson Leads Salon at Brookline Arts Center: How to Show Personality in a Picture

The Brookline Arts Center will host a discussion of photography in a free Photo Salon, led by portrait photographer Dana Berenson on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. Berenson is exhibiting her portraits of pets in an exhibition entitled "Extraordinary Pet Photography" from March 10 through April 9, 2006.

Based in Brookline, Dana Berenson specializes in pet portraiture. Her photographs are full of personality and expression, without the overt sentimentality or sweetness which is often associated with this genre of photography. Berenson will discuss her methods for making the kind of connection with your subject that lead to powerful, intimate portraits, regardless of whether the subject is animal or human.

This salon is part of the Arts Center's ongoing program of hosting community photography Salons that are open to photographers and to the general public. The salon is open to all community members who are interested in learning more about photography, as well as professional or amateur photographers who would like to bring examples of their own work to show and discuss with the group.

The salon is an opportunity to see a variety of work, and to discuss the techniques and artistry of the photography. Both digital and film photographers are welcome. The salon is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted.
