"Fragments of Life" in Movaghar's Watercolors At the Brookline Arts Center October 14 - November 9

The Brookline Arts Center is pleased to present the first one-person show by Brookline artist Neda Movaghar. This recent graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art will display a series of lively watercolors in Fragments of Life: Watercolors by Neda Movaghar, on view at the Brookline Arts Center from October 14 to November 9, 2005.

This series of abstract watercolors is based on details taken from patterns found in maps, scarves, and traditional fabrics. The artist is particularly drawn to patterns that remind her of her youth in Iran.

"I also work as a graphic designer," says Movaghar. "With those projects, I concentrate on the expressive potential of abstract shapes for my client's needs. In my fine arts work, I explore lines and shapes for their own sake."

A Gallery Reception with the artist will be held Friday, October 28 , 2005 from 7:00-9:00pm. It is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
