Katherine Younger Presents Autumn Ceramics
at Brookline Arts Center Gallery

The Brookline Arts Center is proud to exhibit "Autumn Ceramics", Ceramics by Katherine Younger from October 11 through November 10, 2006. Younger's work is combines rigorously modern abstract shapes with the organic and accidental colors that result from Saggar and Raku firing techniques. The resulting works bring together the esthetics of mid-century modernism with a Japanese-inspired love of accident and irregularity.

Meet Katherine Younger at an artist's reception on Friday, October 20th, from 6:30 to 8:00 in the gallery of the Brookline Arts Center. The reception is free and open to the public.

Katherine Younger's background is in biology and teaching. Younger left those fields in order to study writing and art, where her projects have been inspired by her travels in Europe, Asia and the West Coast. Younger first studied ceramics at the New Art Center in Newton and has continued her growth with the ceramics program at Harvard.

Exhibition hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. The Brookline Arts Center is located at 86 Monmouth Street in Brookline, one block from the St. Mary's stop on the MBTA Green line. For more information, call 617-566-5715 or www.brooklineartscenter.com.
