Meet Wei Chandler!

How did you arrive at the BAC?

I picked the BAC because it has many artistic options to pick from. My mom found the BAC online and I’ve been taking classes there for years.

Tell us about your art background! What kinds of art did you practice before arriving at the BAC?

I enjoy drawing and doodling. I did work with clay in my elementary school.

What class/camp did you take at the BAC, and what was your favorite part about it?

I took the jewelry making class this summer and my favorite part was working with resin because it was super difficult and we had to try many strategies to get the piece right.

I took the Clayworks classes and my favorite part was when we got to do free clay time because it allowed infinite possibilities of things to create

What are some new things or techniques  you learned during your time at the BAC?

I learned how to solder stuff and how to make jewelry for the first time.

What would you say to someone who is considering taking a class at the BAC?

I would definitely do something you are interested in but might not have done before because you’ll learn something new. Don’t take a class that’s too easy or too difficult because then it might be too boring.

How would you define the word β€œArt”? What does it mean to you?

Art is defined as anything that is made with the creative process. Art means something that you feel like making or doing that tests your creativity.
